Orascom Development Holding (ODH) is a leading developer of fully integrated destinations, including hotels, residential units and leisure facilities such as golf courses, marinas and supporting infrastructure. ODH offers a diverse portfolio of worldwide destinations covering Egypt, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Oman, Morocco, Montenegro, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. The group operates a total of 35 hotels with 8,016 rooms and controls approximately 100.3 million sqm of land.

Samih Sawiris Chairman

Samih Sawiris became CEO of Orascom Development Holding on an interim basis in April 2014, and is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors.  In 1996 he established Orascom Projects for Touristic Development and a year later founded Orascom Hotel Holdings.  The two companies eventually merged to form Orascom Hotels & Development S.A.E.  Mr Sawiris founded the El Gouna Beverages Company in 1997, which was the largest beverage company in Egypt when sold in 2001.  He started his first company, the National Marine Boat Factory, after receiving a Diploma in Economic Engineering from the Technical University of Berlin in 1980.

Adil Douiri Member

In 1992 Adil Douiri founded Casablanca Finance Group (the country’s first investment bank, later renamed CFG Bank) and until 2002 acted as chairman of its supervisory board.  He remains a board member of CFG, and holds similar positions with MFEx (a Stockholm-based technology company serving the financial industry) and Holcim Maroc (a PLC listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange and a subsidiary of the Lafarge Holcim Group).  Mr Douiri served in His Majesty King Mohamed VI’s government as Minister of Tourism from 2002 to 2007, and as Minister for Tourism, Crafts & Social Economy between 2004 and 2007.  He is the founding shareholder and CEO of Mutandis, a Moroccan consumer goods company established in 2008, and graduated as an engineer from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts & Chaussées (ENPC) in Paris.

Franz Egle Member

Franz Egle’s background is in strategic development, corporate communications, media and PR. After holding senior positions in the private sector, he was Head of Communications at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and an advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1993 to 1998. Between 1999 and 2006 Mr Egle was a partner of Hirzel.Neef.Schmid.Konsulenten, a communication and financial consultancy, and is a co-founder of Dynamics Group, a Swiss company providing strategic consulting, communication management and research analysis.  He holds a Doctorate in Sociology from the University of Zurich.

Carolina Müller-Möhl Member

Carolina Müller-Möhl is a Swiss investor, philanthropist and founder of the Müller-Möhl Group, a single-family office which actively manages the family's investments over which she has presided since 2000.  Mrs Müller-Möhl has served on the board of directors of Gebrüder Müller Immobilien AG since 2000, and of AG für die Neue Zürcher Zeitung, a major media group in Switzerland, since 2010.  In 2015 she also became a board member of Fielmann AG, Europe's largest optician. Mrs Müller-Möhl is highly committed to addressing socio-political causes and as a result has established the Müller-Möhl Foundation, which focuses on the compatibility of work and family life, education, promotion of a free market in Switzerland and philanthropy in general.  She also sits on various foundation and advisory boards that support the above causes, including those at the University of Zurich’s Department of Economics and the University of St. Gallen, the MBA for Women Foundation, EDGE, Avenir Suisse, the Swiss Economic Forum, Schweizerische Management Gesellschaft and Bertelsmann Stiftung, Germany.  In recognition of her success and her philanthropic commitment, the World Economic Forum nominated Mrs Müller-Möhl as a Young Global Leader in 2007. She studied politics, history and law, and graduated with an MA in Political Science from Freie Universität Berlin.

Naguib S. Sawiris Member

Naguib Sawiris founded Yup in 2014, and is its CEO.  Yup is a San Francisco-based Education Technology company that provides on-demand personalized learning through mobile chat, with over 500,000 student sign-ups.  Yup has raised USD 7.5 million from leading tech and education investors including Index Ventures, Floodgate Fund and Stanford University's StartX Fund. Mr Sawiris is an active angel investor, having invested in over 20 companies including DoctorOnDemand, Transcriptic, and Womply. His investments have gone on to raise over USD 200 million in subsequent rounds. He studied at Stanford University, where he designed his own major (Economic and Enterprise Engineering).

Marco Sieber Member

Marco Sieber and his brother have transformed the family business, SIGA Holding Ltd, into an international company with over 450 employees.  SIGA develops and manufactures products for the construction industry, particularly in the field of energy-saving sealings. Mr Sieber is from Lucerne in Switzerland and studied at the Business School in Lausanne, from where he graduated with a Business Degree in 1989, and is a member of several boards.

Jürgen Fischer Member

Jürgen Fischer is founder of Dubai-based Pearl Management Consultants and was previously CEO of Dubai Properties LLC, a major real estate developer in the UAE which managed 20,000 residential leasing units, 50,000 sqm of retail space, thousands of “Built to Sell” apartments and villas and several master developments in Dubai.  He was also involved in the Sama Dubai Group’s international developments in Morocco, Oman and elsewhere.  During his time with Dubai Properties, Mr Fischer oversaw several theme park and tourist projects.  Between 1995 and 2008 he held several senior positions with Hilton International, including President for Commercial Operations and President for Continental Europe, Middle East and Africa, as well as President of Scandic Hotels AB.  Mr Fischer has been a non-executive board member of Movenpick Hotels & Resorts since 2008, and non-executive Chairman since 2014.  Prior to joining Hilton International he held the roles of Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Director of Resort Development for Disneyland Paris, and General Manager of the Grand Floridian Beach Resort and Spa at Walt Disney World in Florida. Mr Fischer held several hotel management positions in Europe and the Middle East after starting his professional life as a chef in 1970: he later graduated from the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, Switzerland and was awarded an MBA with Honors from IMEDE/IMD, Lausanne in 1988.

Jürg Weber Member

Before his present position as Divisional Chief Executive Officer of SIX Payment Services and Chairman of the Board of TWINT, Jurg Weber was CEO and partial owner of Boyner Financial Services in Istanbul and an entrepreneur in the field of card issuing, purchase finance and payment services. He was previously a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he served Swiss banking clients and later co-led the founding of the Istanbul office, leading to his nomination as a Partner. Prior to this Mr Weber served as project assistant to the Vice-Chairman of UBS Phillips & Drew in London, and as Project Manager for the CEO of UBS North America in New York, where he was elected into the UBS Leadership Program with a sponsorship for an MBA.  Mr Weber holds an MBA with a Major in Finance and Strategic Planning from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.  He previously studied Civil Engineering at the School of Engineering in Switzerland, and Microeconomics and English at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Khaled Bichara Chief Executive Officer

Khaled Bichara is the Chief Executive Officer of Orascom Development Holding, a co-founder of Accelero Capital and previously served as Group President and Chief Operating Officer of VimpelCom Ltd. He was also CEO of Orascom Telecom Holding S.A.E. and COO of Wind Telecomunicazioni S.p.A. Mr Bichara played a pivotal role in the merger of VimpelCom with Wind Telecom to create the world’s sixth largest telecommunications carrier with a total value of USD 25.7 billion.  He managed ten operations across the globe through Orascom Telecom and Wind Italy, and 22 operations across the globe through VimpelCom.  Mr Bichara was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Orascom Telecom and Wind Telecom in 2009, bringing with him a wealth of experience in both telecommunications and information technology coupled with strong management and entrepreneurial expertise. Prior to this he was Chief Operating Officer of Wind Italy which he joined in 2005, heading the fixed line and portal business unit before becoming Chief Operating Officer: during this time he played a key role in the company’s restructure, completing the successful turnaround of Wind Italy from a continuously loss-making company to one of the leading European mobile, fixed line and broadband integrated operators within three years.   Prior to joining Wind Italy, Mr Bichara was the co-founder, Chairman and CEO of LINKdotNET (LDN), one of the largest private Internet Service Providers in the Middle East. In 2001, following successful negotiations, Microsoft chose to partner with LDN to launch MSN Arabia, the Middle East’s first global portal, bringing the full experience of MSN to the region’s internet users.  In 2011 he served as Group Executive Chairman of Orascom Telecom and Chairman of Wind Italy, and is currently a board member of various telecom and IT companies, including SUPERNAP International S.A, developer of the world-renowned SUPERNAP data centers.  He is also a board member of Orascom Construction Limited (a company listed on both the NASDAQ Dubai and the Egyptian Stock Exchange) and Orascom Development Egypt S.A.E (listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange).  Mr Bichara is a member of the Advisory Board for the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the American University in Cairo, and was previously a member of the GSMA board.  He holds a Bachelor of Science from the American University in Cairo.

Abdelhamid Abouyoussef Chief Hotel Officer

Abdelhamid Abouyoussef is a tourism entrepreneur who started his career in the design and installation of hotel electro-mechanical systems in 1998, moving on to project management and owner's representation until 2004 when he founded his first company (Shores Hotels) to manage a single hotel of 200 guestrooms.  With the growth of Shores Hotels' portfolio, Mr Abouyoussef pursued hotel development, developing three hotels in three different destinations across Egypt. In addition to his role with ODH he is a board member of several tourism companies, among them Sinai for Touristic Investments, Sinai for Hotel Management and Touristic Marketing, Golden Sharm Resort, Mediterranean for Touristic Investments and Allied Touristic Investment.  Mr Abouyoussef holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the American University in Cairo and an MSc from the University of California at Berkeley. He is also a commission member of the International Federation of the Automobile (FIA).

Ashraf Nessim Chief Financial Officer

Ashraf Nessim has more than 20 years’ experience in various fields including finance, infrastructure and hospitality.  He is the Chief Financial Officer of Orascom Development Holding and Orascom Hotels and Development (OHD), the largest Egyptian subsidiary of the group.  Prior to joining OHD he was the Chief Financial Officer representing Beltone Private Equity in their Pickalbatros investment.   Between 2007 and 2010, Mr Nessim was the Group Chief Financial Officer of Mobiserve, a key player in mobile telecommunications network infrastructure in 9 countries within the Middle East and South Asia.  Before moving into the world of finance he established Raya Distribution in Algeria, in addition to managing all merchandising activities in Nokia and Samsung’s 34 outlets throughout Egypt.  Mr Nessim holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and was one of the first Egyptians to attain CFA designation in 2004.

Nermine Faltas Chief HR & Organization Development Officer

Nermine Faltas has more than 20 years of multi-disciplinary experience in Human Capital, Organizational Development, IT and Process Re-engineering.  She started her career in 1995 as a software engineer, then joined LINKdotNET as Project Manager, working on many process and quality improvement assignments.  As the company expanded her interest grew in Organizational Development, which led to her appointment to the role of Human Resources and Operations Senior Manager.  Mrs Faltas has managed multiple strategic initiatives and Change Management projects including mergers, regional expansions and restructures. In September 2010 she became Vice President for Operations & Human Capital at A15, where she led all centralized supporting operations including Human Resources, Administration and Management Information Systems, serving over 10 subsidiaries, 16 regional offices and more than 1000 employees. Mrs Faltas is a PROSCI-certified Change Management practitioner and certified trainer/facilitator, a corporate co-active coach accredited by the International Coaching Federation and holds a certification in HR competency analysis profiling from HRCG Canada.  She was awarded a BSc in Computer Science by the American University in Cairo in 1995.

Tarek Gadallah General Legal Counsel

Tarek Gadallah has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, restructuring and debt and equity capital markets transactions. His experience also includes project financing and PPP projects covering all stages of the process from inception to commercial operations.  Prior to joining the group, Mr Gadallah spent eight years in private practice as a senior partner with a top-tier law firm in Egypt, where he advised local and international clients on high value, complex and cross-border transactions across a wide range of industries including financial services, real estate, tourism, energy, and pharmaceuticals. He also advised public companies on regulatory, compliance and corporate governance issues. In conjunction with his corporate practice, Mr Gadallah has handled a number of high value and complex international commercial arbitrations, and represented financial institutions and investors in several securities and capital markets litigations. Prior to establishing his private practice Mr Gadallah worked as Group General Counsel of a regional investment bank, where he handled a variety of debt and equity transactions in Egypt and the GCC region.  He has a Masters degree in Law from Cairo University and Executive Education in Accounting and Finance from Wharton Business School and Cambridge Judge Business School.
